Something strange is happening this weekend as we welcome the Blackheath Morris Men and friends to the club to celebrate Blackheath's fiftieth anniversary. They will be camping at the club all weekend.

We had to look up 'Morris Ale' to know what was involved. To the uninitiated, a Morris Ale is a private party where a number of morris sides get together and perform dances for their own enjoyment rather than for an audience. The weekend is planned as follows:

The club and Kennedy Bar will open between 2pm - 11pm this Friday for Morris Men only. We expect around 80 morris men to stay overnight.
After breakfast, they will depart on coaches to spend the day dancing in London and meeting more Morris Men before around 150 of them return to the club around 6pm for a ceilidh of dancing and music before they all head off to bed. All club members are welcome. The Kennedy Bar will be open until midnight.
Sunday they breakfast at 8:30am before packing up and heading home mid morning.
