Beckenham is back in the winners circle after a clinical display in Cobham on Saturday. Conditions favoured the visitors on the 4G pitch, plenty of grazes and a few sore lower backs waking up on Sunday, it’s all part of why we love the game…
Cobham had all the ball in the first half, Beckenham defending for 30 odd minutes in our own half of the field, Cobham unable to score a single point.
On the stroke of half time, Andrew "Pig" Knowles finished off a well worked team try which started from a Bateman quick tap. Beckenham at the break up 7-0
The game opened up in the second half. Beckenham trylights included 2 five pointers to the human pinball Rimarni Richards, Jed Hamilton with a length of the field effort down the sideline bumping multiple defenders within the tram tracks (try of the year contender), Feldhaus-Davies put Boyce through a hole on the halfway line and finally Lewis Bunton pounced on a loose ball to go under the posts.
40-12 final score, first win of 2024.
Well done gents.
