1st half

Early mistakes & handling errors gave Sidcup easy field position and after solid and dogged defensive, several big carries saw Sidcup score in the corner after a few minutes.

This pattern continued as Sidcup out muscled Beckenham @ the breakdown and retained possession with some good line breaks rewarding several them more tries.

A great kick chase from Dexter set up a promising attack seeing Beckenham forwards Michael & Benroy getting within 5m of the try line only to be scuppered by a handling errors when they looked to spread the ball wide.

Beckenham tackled hard and thwarted multiple attacks but Sidcup were able to out flank them and go on to score more tries.

Alex epitomised Beckenhams defensive efforts by making a superb try saving tackle after the opposition had crossed the try line.

2nd half

With the slope and wind behind them Beckenham gained some promising attacking positions throughout the 2nd half.
However missed tackles and slow ruck speed gifted possession to Sidcup too often.

Beckenhams scum performed really well against a heavier pack and all though the backs were able to break the gain line several times, support was too often too slow to arrive enabling the home team to turn the ball over.

Some great half back play excellent touch finding kicks by Dylan and Theo gave Beckenham great opportunity to breach your Sidcup line, but again handling mistakes and solid defence kept them out.

Sidcup ran in a few late tries as the away team lost their shape.

Some injuries to key players prior and during the match compounded a tough day for the away team who fought and battled throughout against a well drilled home side.

Beckenham came close in the closing minutes on several occasions with all players punching holes in the Sidcup defence in a huge effort & nearly going over in the corner, but the rugby gods were not with them them today.

If lessons are learnt through mistakes and adversity - then the lads will improve from this heavy defeat which saw them fight to the final whistle.
