This year London hosts the 2012 Summer Olympics, with this in mind the Ladies team have organized the first ever Beckenham Olympics......

The event will take place on 12th August from midday – entrance fee £1 for adults free for children (under 16) [includes raffle ticket].

Games will be a mixture between retro sports day and traditional fete games. Many can be participated in on the day for a small fee for example apple bobbing and tin can bowling, others we would ideally like numbers for in advance for example egg and spoon and other races – this is because they will be arranged for particular time slots. Please see sign-up sheets in the club or on the website under the forum section. You can also contact the team on beckenhamladiesrugby@hotmail.co.uk

We are also running Crossfit taster sessions via Harri Bold – our captain last year. 10 people per session so please express your interest early! Slots are currently planned as follows: 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30 pm and 3.30pm.

Games planned as follows:
‘100m’ - Egg and spoon race
‘200m’ - Balancing bag on head race
‘Hurdles’ - Sack race
‘Football’ - Football slalom
‘Gymnastics’ - Wheelbarrow race
‘Triathlon’ - Three legged race
‘Javelin’ - Wellie throwing
‘Basketball’ – rugby ball into a bin
‘Shooting’ – grubber through targets
‘Equestrian’ – dog agility / best dressed / waggiest tail / best trick
‘Shot put’ - Wet Sponge Throw
‘Aquatics’ – apple bobbing
‘Swimming’ - Hook a duck
‘Handball’ - Tin Can Bowling
‘Tennis’ - Rat down the drain pipe
‘Sailing’ – boat races (pints of water for the younger members)

There will be lots of prizes to be won, medals and rosettes!

Plenty of food – BBQ and cake bake – and of course the bar will be open!

We are hoping for better weather than the funday so get yourselves down and involved in another fantastic family day at Beckenham RFC. If this goes well we hope to stage it every year!
