BRFC Tackles Prostate Cancer

Join us for lunch at Balmoral Ave on 28 November before the 1st XV take on Bromley at home, as we raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

November is Men’s Health Month, and with several people within our club community affected by prostate cancer, this is a cause that means a great deal to us, and to Charlotte Hewett- who is the driving force behind this event.

Charlotte Hewett (wife of ex first team player Jack Hewett), James Curr’s sister, and also daughter in law of Ian Hewett, is the driving force behind this event as she has a place in the London Marathon next year, and is fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK.

Charlotte has sent us this to tell us a bit more about her fundraising efforts and about more about the day-
“I’m proud to be running the 2027 London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK, a cause close to my heart, as both my uncle and father-in-law have been affected.

As part of my fundraising, we’re bringing the community together for BRFC Tackles Prostate Cancer on Saturday 28th November, an afternoon of rugby, food and fundraising, with a raffle and auction, while raising vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Every penny raised will support the charity’s work to help save and improve the lives of thousands of men and families affected by this disease.

We have fantastic raffle and auction prizes ranging from fitness classes to food and drink experiences, nights out and sporting memorabilia

Join us for the lunch, a raffle and auction, and then watch some great rugby! We’d love the whole community to get behind the day, whether that’s coming along, taking part, donating a prize or simply helping to spread the word

If you can’t make it but would still like to support, please get in touch with Charlotte Hewett or donate directly through my just giving page (which we will share).

Every donation, however big or small, will help make a difference

The cost is £30 per person for a 2 course lunch, all made by our club chef Mark. £20 pays for the lunch, and £10 will go directly to Prostate Cancer Uk.
