After the scorching summer we’ve had I think we can all agree with a lot of graft and people pitching in Pitch 1 is looking great.

Pitch 3 is currently out of use because the weed killing and reseeding failed. This was due to it becoming almost completely infested with a form of knot weed that has stopped any germination and regrowth.

If we don't remove it the pitch will be out of use for the entire season.

The only way to prevent this from happening is for the the weeds to be removed by hand so the roots are lifted - we have tried machinery but this has not worked.

We have made a start but it is a huge task.

Please come and join our working party next Saturday 3rd October 8.30am on pitch 3 .

Any time you can spare will make a difference so we can get the pitch reseeded and back in use this season.
