Paul Skelly was the chairman of the club and sadly passed away seven years ago. In his memory, an annual cycle is organised. This event is open to everyone, whatever your age or ability. If you are doing the May Madness fundraiser to raise money for the extension, this would be a great opportunity.
Two rides will leave Beckenham RFC on Sunday 21st May to mark the seventh anniversary of our dear friend Paul Skelly’s passing.
NOTE the different start times for each ride below:
Long route - 40 miles - DEPARTING AT 9am https://ridewithgps.com/routes/21067686
Medium route - 25 miles - DEPARTING AT 9.30am https://ridewithgps.com/routes/21067734
Both routes pass Col du Skelly (Beddlestead Lane) and will be at a social speed so are open to EVERYONE - members and non members. We will return to Beckenham where those who wish to pay their respects will head to the crematorium.
Finally - We will return to the Rugby Club to reminisce and raise a couple of glasses to Skells.
Ride leaders and a lantern rouge will be needed for both rides so please volunteer if you can. If you have any questions please contact brcyclists@gmail.com
