Beckenham RFC and Old Colfeians RFC are proud to come together to announce the creation of The McMillan Murray Cup, a memorial rugby cup established in honour of two much-loved players: Graham Murray of Beckenham RFC and Brendan McMillan of Old Colfeians RFC.
Both Graham and Brendan were more than just players — they were teammates, friends, and integral parts of their respective clubs. They are still deeply missed by their clubs, their friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing them. Their impact continues to be felt both on and off the pitch.
The McMillan Murray Cup will be contested annually across the home and away fixtures between Beckenham and Old Colfeians. While rivalry has always been a part of these encounters, this cup represents something greater — a shared respect, unity, and remembrance beyond competition.
Through this fixture, both clubs honour the legacy of Graham and Brendan by playing the game they loved with the values they embodied: commitment, camaraderie, and respect. It stands as a reminder that rugby brings people together, even in times of loss.
Both Beckenham RFC and Old Colfeians RFC continue to send their love and thoughts to Graham’s and Brendan’s families, honouring their memory and ensuring they are never forgotten.
This Friday sees the return fixture, at Balmoral Ave for a 19.45 KO
