Beckenham Bamboozle Blackheath.

After a dominant performance last week – Beckenham went into this game v Blackheath as strong favourites after a dominant display against Dartfordians. With a similar strength team this week Beckenham started well through powerful carries from the forwards. With Patch Hooton and Eb leading the charge. Winning the gain line set up a quick ruck where the ball was passed wide to open side flanker Tom Ward who kicked the ball through, following up on his own kick to dot down and opened the scoring, as he did the week before.

From this Beckenham had the upper hand and were playing some very nice rugby, although this progress was someone what pulled back with Rydian stokes going to the bin for a late tackle – but Beckenham continued to press on. It was a tight and hard fought first half with Beckenham managing to eek another score before half-time to take the score to 14-0 Beckenham.

In the second half Blackheath began to tire and Beckenham’s fitness showed and the home side came into their own – 45 unanswered points in the second half brought home a 59-0 victory with second half tries scored by Josh Burke, Tom Ward with his second, Hugh with 2, Conar Duffy, Chima Odum and John Eaton.

Another great win to keep the unbeaten record going. Two great wins showing how the numbers and efforts in training are really paying off. Long may it continue!
