We arrived at the very modern and up to date ground nice and early, which proved wise as we found ourselves fixated on whether the fancy hand washers/dryers offered other "services", alas they did not.

The rain the night before and the sun beating down meant the ground was in perfect condition. Also the pitch (although I do believe it had something to do with it being their 1st team pitch) was one of the best I've played on.

On with the game:

We started with kick off, the ball hoisted high in the air and the guys hospital (GH) player knocking it on. Scrum to us, although it was uncontested as GH were waiting on the arrival of their hooker.
From the resulting scrum the ball was whipped out quickly to the backs to punch the ball up and test out the opposition defence, they stood strong as they made some big hits. This was countered by alot of phases of pick and gos from the forwards and it was working big time, they gained constant yards time and time again.
From a resulting ruck the ball was out in the backs again with some strong running from Sam and Tinashe being stopped just short of the line, a quick pick and go from our hooker Andy G saw him dive over the line to open the scores. (Try: Andy Garland Conv: Paul Crockford - Score 7-0)

The same thing happened again as the backs punched it up gaining ground and the forwards continued to dominate with the pick and gos, this time it was second row Rich McStraw who dived over the line

During the remaining course of the half it was back and forth with GH making some good ground and getting on the score sheet in the process.

In the second half Beckenham came out of the blocks ready to shut down GH and not allow them to pick up any of the momentum they ended the first half with, the work rate was upped and every single first up tackle was made, shutting out GH and not allowing them on the score sheet again.

3rd try went to Andy G again to take his tally to two (he must of thought Christmas had come early!!).
(Try: Andy Garland Conv: Missed Score - 19-5) I don't know whether it was the thought of a hat trick or the friendly rivalry he has with his brother, but he turnt into George North picking the ball up from the 22, handing off a player and pacing past most of their team to run 3/4s the length of the pitch before being stopped agonizingly close to the line.

4th try was made by a brilliant passage of hands involving both backs and forwards, which ended with a delicate chip over the top from scrum half Charlie Kelly, Sammy collecting and placing the ball down in the corner. (Try: Sammy O'connell Conv: Missed Score - 24-5)

The final say of the game went to Beckenham with another try with less then 10 minutes to go, Rich Mcstraw found himself on the crash with only one man in front to stop him and it only ended one way. (Try: Rich McStraw Conv: Missed Score - 29-5)

A well battled performance against a young and fit GH side who will no doubt do well in the league. But it was Beckenham who just had the cutting edge to finish off the chances they created and take their tally to 3 wins in 3 games.
