Tough mornings training,

Hope you all had a good time at Old Bec’s on Sunday and I hope you’ve all warmed up by now, it was a very well structured morning with all the warm ups and drills we did as a big group. When we split into the little games we played, myself and Adam didn’t see much of the other group games but talking to Oliver he told me that Shay and Tom worked very hard as a forward pack with Reice running in two trys, from then on his match report became a little vague, but an Old Bec’s boy called “milky” featured a lot because Shay took the ball off him and scored a try, so well done to Shay.

As to our group they all worked very hard with Lorcan putting some very good tackles 99% below the shoulder line (he’s listened) and Liam working hard in the pack along side Ewan with Ben popping with a couple of great one on one tackles, one of the best moments of our game was when Lorcan stole the ball from a mull and ran nearly half the length of the pitch before most of us had even seen him get the ball. But onto “The Man of the Match” award very tough choice this week if we’d had two trophies two boys stood out, one from each group and after along chat between Jody Adam and myself, Gregory won it by the skin of his teeth, with his tiger like tackling on boys twice his size and with his wiliness to pass to ball out of a tackle that sold it for me, a big well done to you.

I’d also like to say well done to all of you, it was a tough mornings rugby and they deserve a big pat on the back.

On to this week,

Thursday night rugby is “Off”, after a chat with Adam we think three sessions of Rugby this week is a little bit too much, thoughts please asap, if they would like a light session let them tackle the sofa!!! And for the forward pack push some cars down the road!!

On to Saturday Friendly against Old E’s I’ve finally got a time, be there for approx 12.00 parking in their car park.

To remind you where it is- “foxbury festival” ground if you still need directions give me a call on 0789 9797077

Please do all make it, should be a great day out and the boys will get to see the 1st play as well!

I’ve copied in the running order for the day.

I believe the format for the day is :

· 7s and 8s starting at 12:30
9s and 10s starting at 1:00
Both 11s at 1:30

· 1st team KO is 2:15, so boys need to be finished by 2:00 – and need to have them ready to line the route in a “guard of honour”

· I’ve been told there’s food after kick off for the boys?

· Please make sure they got there shirts.

Sunday training as usual 10.00 start.

Please as always gum shields and extra warm clothing and snacks required (for us coaches)

Hope to see you all there on Saturday

Cheers

Tony & Jude
