West Kent Divas Dazzelled by Ealing Emeralds

The U15 Girls West Kent Divas, loose there first home game but put in a fantastic effort which bodes well for the future

On a wet day, when the pitch could be best described as mud bath, the Under 15 girls from West Kent Divas narrowly lost to Ealing Emeralds. To both clubs credit, 13 played 13 and although West Kent divas, had 11 players who are under 13 girls, they provided a stern opposition to there older opposition. The game was dominated by direct running close to forwards with both teams tackling well. It was Ealing who scored the first try, following a concerted effort in the forwards, driving over the line. West Kent Divas replied late on in the first half following concerted pressure and a direct run by Ceri Edwards, with and off load to Alice Burtonshaw who powered through to score a deserved try. 5 5 at half time
In the second half, the game remained competitive, with possession and territory, 50 50, however Ealing emeralds managed to break through the Divas defence on a few occasions and run in trys.
Throughout the game, everyone of the West Kent Divas, contributed to the cause, but some do deserve a special mention.
Oliva, ripping the ball and taking it to the opposition a number of times.
Erin, for being everywhere and getting the ball away.

Megan, for hanging on an tackling there biggest play, fine effort
Finally Alice, who in her second game, ran superbly with the ball and tackled very well and scored cagain. For this she is nominated as player of the game.
