WKD IU15 girls put their pres season practice to the test taking on both Aylesford and Edenbridge in a series of 15 minute friendly games in which the girls performed very well winning all their encounters.
From the series of games, in which all teams varied their players and formations there were a lot of positives and some items that clearly need work on.
On the positive there were encouraging performances from Luana and Rhiannon who made good contributions in the forwards. Another newbie, Amelia, ran very powerfully, playing front row and centre during the games and shows huge promise following her first run out for the Divas.
During the day, it was good to see Cerys lading the forwards so effectively and Megan demonstrating that all she needs is some space to run in the trys.
Through the team there was good organisation with good support keeping the ball alive, shifting the point of attack from one side to the other. In defensive there was an effective defensive line, with out over committing to the tackle area. The press defence had good line speed especially Ellie. Some tackles were missed, but cover defence was very effective.
In contact however, ball retention is an area that needs to be improved and is something to work on over the next few weeks.
Weldone everyone today, great start
