Great session today

Great session today

Beckenham RFC14 Nov 2017 - 08:47

Brrrrrrr it was a cold one!!

Another impressive turnout today and we continue to get new players. Great to see a new players from Bromley turn up and thank you for helping to make them so welcome. It wasn't really possible to have a Beckenham / Bromley match due to numbers so hopefully we can get a rematch later in the season for their full squad to come back for a proper session.

So welcome back to Sean who returned after watching England beat Argentina on Saturday. This weekend England line up against Australia so that promises to be a fantastic contest. Games against Australia are always memorable so tune in at 3pm on Saturday.

Our defensive line work is getting better week on week. The evasive running is also great to see - remember run forwards not backwards - now we need to start thinking about passing the ball to a team mate before we get tagged.

If you could click the link and help your son or daughter through this video and story then that would be great. No worries if you can't view it or it doesn't work on your device.

With the weather giving us a taste of what's to come, please make sure your son / daughter has the right number of layers on. A thermal compression top is easy to get hold of online from Decathlon, Sports Direct, Canterbury or Rhino. They cost between £8-50 depending on brand name but are worth their weight in gold. If your son /daughter feels the cold then maybe buy a couple and wear them together. Hoddies shouldn't be worn as they can be grabbed from behind and cause unnecessary injuries.

Home training on Sunday. Please be pitch side for 10am all tagged up and ready to go.

Please get to the club early and car share if you can as the whole Bromley mini section is coming for joint training so parking will be at a premium.

This is also Remembrance Sunday, so if you have to be at church parades with cubs etc then that's fine. For everyone else at home we will stop training to line up around the 1st XV pitch for the minutes silence at 11am.

A number of Beckenham players lost their lives in the 2 World Wars and their names can be found inscribed on the Remembrance plaque inside the clubhouse front doors.
